Penny cuddling with Mr. Bear.
Penelope is a cat.
Penny the night owl.
Such a lady
Penny wearing my red sweatshirt. I think she looks adorable.
Penny went to her cousin Panda’s 4th birthday! They had yummy carrot-peanut butter cupcakes and had some play time.
These are a few of my favorite things.
I am glad to announce that our dear Penny is feeling mucho better! Apparently she had been out eating poop and roly polys in the backyard and they weren’t agreeing with her. The only reason I know this is because she started throwing up again later at night and I literally dug through her vomit and sure enough, there was poop and about 50 roly polys in it. So gross. I guess the rain brought out all the bugs and she thought it was buffet time! We just have to be more vigilant about the poop and roly poly scavenging. But she’s all better now, she lost about a pound in water weight because she was so dehydrated, but she’s well on her way to getting back to her old self. :)
Give your pups a belly rub for Penny! She threw up 11 times today within a span of 30 minutes. I was freaking out, so we ended up bringing her in to the vet and they said that she probably ate something that didn’t agree with her. Poor baby is exhausted from being dehydrated. The vet said we should observe her and only give her water for tonight. Here’s to hoping she feels well by tomorrow! *crosses fingers*
Penny gets some yummy vanilla yogurt with carob chips for a treat!
Finishing off the peanut butter jar!
Penelope: Hipster edition.
When Penny was a puppy, she was a big biter! Whenever she felt bitey, I usually did 2 things. First when she would bite me, I would make a loud “yelp” noise that would demonstrate to her that what she did hurt me. Instinctively, puppies play bite with each other and when they hear that “yelp” noise, they immediately think that they are hurting the other puppy and will stop biting. Secondly, when she starts to bite or chew on my hand, I would quickly give her a chew toy. With this method, you’re trying to redirect her attention onto something that is appropriate to chew on.
I hope that helps! Plus, here’s a helpful site that has a lot of info on puppies that bite and nip: http://www.dog-obedience-training-review.com/how-to-stop-a-puppy-from-biting.html
When she was a puppy, she was on the Chicken and Rice Purina Pro Plan dry food for puppies. Sometimes, she wouldn’t eat her food during meal times. Eventually we got her some of those dog gravy things that you pour over her dog food just to get her to eat. But after a while I noticed that she would scratch a lot and sometimes would throw up her food. So after then we switched her food to Wellness Complete Health Super5Mix Chicken recipe. I wish I switched her sooner! She doesn’t have a problem throwing up her food anymore and she always eats her food during meal times. Also, she stopped scratching herself so much. Her Wellness food doesn’t contain corn so I think that may have done the trick. Pro-Plan’s dry food still contains corn so I think that Penny might have been allergic to it. I am not saying that Purina Pro Plan is a bad choice for dog food, I am just saying that it didn’t work out for us.
Wellness is a bit more expensive than Pro-Plan, but I think it’s worth giving something healthier and better for our dear corgis don’t you think? There are other corn-free dog foods out there, but we’ll be sticking to Wellness for a while. Also, Wellness has a Just for Puppy recipe too if you’re wondering.

Don’t really know how this works, but it’s pretty cool!
